Q7 Rear Camera
The rear camera went totally black.
car: Audi Q7. 2008. Petrol. 4.2 Litres. S.line.
Should I replace it with an original Audi cam. Same part no and same specs? Or another higher resolution camera can fit?

First off, never assume that just because one thing appears not to function, that that is the root cause. Get a VAG-compatible scantool on the car to see what's what under the skin. It could be the control module or some other issue unrelated to the actual camera itself, and if it is, you will almost certainly see trouble codes when you scan the car, and/or it will confirm your suspicions. When you start buying parts that aren't broken, a seemingly 'no-brainer', simple fix often turns expensive in a hurry.

The OEM cameras are stupid expensive for how crappy the look, I would find the root cause before throwing parts at it.
I started looking into an upgraded camera a year ago when my last Q was having intermittent camera issues. I was never able to find a drop in replacement but didn't do much research.
