2017 Q7 3rd row seat stuck down

2017 Q7 3rd row seat stuck down
I have just noticed that the passenger side 3rd row seat is stuck in the down position. When I press the button for it to rise, I hear the motor going and then stopping with nothing moving. When I press the 'close' button (while the seat is down) oddly, it opens an inch or so, but when I then press the open button, it closes again. The adjacent seat (3rd row driver side) opens and closes perfectly, so I don't think its a battery issue or anything. I am unfortunately out of warranty and it will cost almost £1k to renew.
