Default Error Help Please : P0068 & P307A

getting a P307a and p0068 every week or so now. Seems to happen if I am sitting idling for a few minutes, but not every time. Started in the winter months so I'm unsure if it is temperature related. My first thought would be to clean the MAF, but I'll be danged if I can find it!? So, next step would be to replace one, or both of the MAP sensors as well as the gas cap since it was called out in the error message

any advice appreciated.

go get an OBDEleven before you start throwing money at P* Codes that are virtually worthless for diagnosis.

Concur with getting a proper-good VAG-compatible scantool; like the OBD-Eleven (entry level helper; mainly for non-DIYer), or the VCDS system, which is the gold standard for this car, and can easily pay for itself in one use. I've got 3 scantools that can talk to our Q7s, but only one of them can actually save me time and repair problems existing within control modules...the VCDS. It's the closest thing to a silver bullet for the Q7.

Hey finnd1, if you look at your airbox (replace all your filters annually, BTW...it's cheap insurance and boosts mpg/performance), and trace the plastic tubing, you'll see an insert section that houses the MAF. It can be removed and cleaned with a spray can of MAF cleaner...CLEAN IT OFF THE CAR. If the MAF gets dirty, it's no bueno for you...sad car. Realistically, cleaning the MAF is just a part of maintaining any modern vehicle, as that has a ton of impact on the fuel injection metering.

OBD Eleven Pro ordered, should have it tonight. I'll tell you, I'm really disappointed with the Carly app for the VAG line.

yes, cleaning the MAF was my first thought, as that is pretty routine for my jeep and suburban. I picked up a fresh can of CRC MAF Cleaner and then spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to find the MAF. I traced, and even removed the air intake pipe from the airbox to the throttle body and there are no wires connected(to the pipe) that would indicate the maf. Or am I missing something really simple? I swear, I used to think I was at least not inept with my cars until this Audi.

If you have the 3.0T supercharged engine, I do not think there is a MAF sensor. I believe that engine uses MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor(s),...

those P* codes are an OBD2 thing.. they are just numbers with no additional data.. your tool looks the number up in a local database and prints out a generic standardized description that is typical for all modern vehicles..

A VAG Scan tool talks the VW/Audi diagnostic language, which actually gets the description from the module itself.. it contains very detailed diagnostic info, including things like the time/date/milage a fault occurred, how many times it faulted, and more.. a P code like "Airflow too Low" with a vag tool won't even have a P number, it'll have a separate number and display a useful message like: Sensor X measured below threshold Y, or has an intermittent short, etc.. My last repair was the heater blower stopped working, a generic OBD2 P* Code scanner would have found nothing wrong.. my VCDS told me I had a short in the blower motor which gave me enough confidence to order a replacement without taking the original one out and bench testing it first. Put a new blower in and everything was working great.

An OBDEleven or VCDS are functionally equivalent to the same diagnosis tool you find at a dealer, its called ODIS and requires a yearly subscription that costs 4 figures.. just one saved trip to the dealer for a diagnosis will pay for your OBDEleven a few times over.. the only thing you cannot do with a consumer-level diagnostic tool is security-related functions, like programming new keys, updating module firmware, unlocking component protection (a security feature that makes stealing your car for parts about worthless as I can report my car stolen and all the component protected parts can never be used in another vehicle ever again, ODIS will see the vin is blacklisted and refuse to unlock em)

OBDEleven Pro arrived yesterday afternoon so I pulled the following, same, codes. I didn't have much time to play around with it but I can't seem to find how to find the deeper, VAG specific codes. Could you be so kind as to point me to a video or other basic instructions for pulling additional codes? I emailed the scan findings to myself as well, hoping there might be more detail there:
