Audi Q7 4L Common Faults?
On the diesels, typically you are going to experience EGR Cooler failure/coolant leaking from EGR system, possibly oil cooler seal failure related to the coolant leak from EGR, Adblue system failures/components failure, and depending on how it's been driven, the DPF may get full of ash and require service or replacement, and then there's oil leaks, etc. I specifically bought our TDI versions around the extended warranty on them, which covers all the aforementioned issues and many, many more, which takes the sting out of buying a car with some miles on it. Gas or TDI, both are great cars...just depends on what you prefer, and it certainly helps if you like to DIY on your car's maintenance. Otherwise, the Q7, and Audi's in general, can become a very expensive ownership experience if you pay a shop or especially if you ever take them to an Audi dealer.
We do enjoy our Q7s very much, but absolutely despise the dealership experience when taking them in for warranty-related repairs, which should be a painless experience; however, most Audi dealers just try to take advantage of you, even with the extended warranty.
