Default 2007 Q7 3.6 1st scan results ross-tech hex-v2

Just scanned my new 2007 Q7 with the ross-tech hex-v2 for the 1st time.
Here is the txt file results
Any help is appreciated

What I've noticed is that the side mirrors don't move with the controller, the display on the middle of cluster is blank/black, i have to replace the blower motor for hvac and change the cabin filter. I'm also going to replace the spark plugs and coil packs.

Door handles are super common, check the link below for a great writeup how to stop that battery drain. If you don't fix all these open shorts to ground it will eventually kill the battery.

Since you are asking about batteries in the other thread, I would get a new battery in and coded correctly. Delete all these faults, then rescan and see what comes back. A lot of these might not.

Thanks, I will get the doors fixed asap and rescan/clear. I can tell they are putting a drain on the battery, just by how it sounds when I start the vehicle. I wish I still had a garage to do the work. Living in a rental now and I have to work around the rain schedule in April. Could be worse I guess...

+1 clear the code and see if they come back. Low voltage can cause all kinds of codes.

Scan the engine module. I think Group 140 Field 3 (or maybe it was 141) and see what high fuel rail pressure you have. All 6 cylinders misfiring has got to be poorly maintained by the previous owner or something other than the ignition system (like with the high pressure fuel pump HPFP). You can also pull the plugs and see if they are all carbon fouled.

Our Sirius radio unit was a piece of junk, failed early in ownership. You have 14v running, so it might not be a battery voltage issue. Get a fiber optic loop and bypass that junk from the MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) fiber optic bus. IMO, MOST sucks.

You have the 0AT ZF 6HP19 transmission. Nice!!!!! Love ours. Your Q7 must be a Premium model. Others get the Aisin 09D.

For J258 control module in instrument cluster, see https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/29560/

The brake lamps problem remove the bulb and see if the contacts are melted. You may need to get new harnesses. I think there were some manufacturing defect from the factory.

Do lift the seat up and check your battery's date code; had an OE battery in one car that I absolutely thought was a goner and super old due to not holding a charge, when I was hitting it with Schumacher automatic, variable charger (up to 15 amps), but it turned out to be only 2yrs old OE battery...still in warranty, and then it actually tested good at the auto store off-car. It was just those silly door handle sensors. I also reprogrammed the BEM system when reinstalled it, in order to give it max charging, I let it run a full charge cycle on same charger with it out of the car, and have never had a problem from it again. That battery management system gets overlooked by new owners, myself included...well, back in the day anyways. Resolve the door handle errors, reprogram the BEM system/check the battery date code sticker (on side of battery) so you know for sure prior to hauling the battery out of the car, and charge it fully. You might be surprised; I was absolutely floored when mine tested good after all the drama and low voltage error codes.

How do I do the fiber optic loop bypass? I wonder if that is why my mmi says there is no satellite radio installed? I also sent you a pm...

You've got the Ross-Tech now; you can use it to activate the 'hidden green menu' on car and view exactly what features on your car are 'enabled'. If satellite radio is not turned on in the green menu, then you won't have access to it, regardless of if you have the hardware on the car or not. The green menu stars off as generic interface where VW/Audi then codes all the modules and options installed into the car, then they go set the parameters for said function to work by country and other factors, also within the green menu, just a different location, etc. If you get in there, don't change anything w/o taking a picture or making an exact record of what you are specifically changing / where it's located in the menus. It's very easy to get lost in there and forget where you changed and what you changed, etc., and that can be very bad, depending on what you modify. If you see that satellite radio is not active, then you'll know why it doesn't work; it's probably just not a feature equipped on that car.

Danger, Will Robinson! Proceed with extreme caution.

Did not know about this menu. I will be sure not to make any changes. But to play it safe, I'm going to look in the spare tire area first for the sirius receiver. I don't need to screw anything else up.

2nd scan, getting better...

Replaced the hvac blower motor, spark plugs/coil packs, taillights w/ new harnesses...still have to do the door fix and have my instrument cluster repaired. Not sure what the hatch failure is, it opens and closes just fine. Also, the warning lights on the side mirrors work fine and blink if I change lanes "too early."

LOL, I'm sure hoping you got this car for a pittance, as you are coming up with lots of 'projects' to make it whole again. You asked about the mirror control earlier; mine is also working hit-or-miss...a very temperamental switch at this point. I actually got the OE switch off Ebay, brand new, from Latvia I think, for about $15; I just google searched on the OE part # and followed the pricing till it made sense. IIRC, the dealer/stealer price on the mirror controls switch was in the $60 range, but the range of prices is broad on that part...just don't buy the knock-offs from China with the plastic *****, etc. I verified mine is the OE part, stamped as expected, and well made/finished w/metal adjustment ****, that moves smoothly between detents/modes.
