Default Q7 held at port of Benicia since 18th March

I booked in transit and done a 5k down on Q7 on 15 March 2022. The car arrived on 18th March is at the port since then. Dealer is saying that there some documentation issue that Audi sorting but I am really not sure what the real story. Does it really takes that much time to arrive at a dealer that is 100miles away ?

I'm guessing you've never had an Audi prior. The dealer is incentivized to resolve the custom/inspection/port problem so they can get paid. The vehicle won't be released from port-of-entry until everything is in order.

Not to seem insensitive, but we all enjoy our Gen 1, 4L chassis Q7s in this particular sub-forum serving the 2006-2015 model year Q7s. You'll be wanting the Mark II Q7 sub-forum, and if you are smart, then you'll begin reading that forum immediately, before you take delivery.

Good luck!

Incentivised means they should be solving the problem soon. So does these things takes weeks and month to resolve ? Or is it like they have taken down from me and sold it to someone already ? I did not pay the markup

Your dealer is in limbo just like you, they have no control over customs or port scheduling.

Have you seen the news in the last two years? International and just regular shipping is at the highest levels of logistical nightmares we have ever seen.

What he said, and if you read the correct sub-forum, you might notice all the chatter about the current recalls going on for defective safety devices, etc.

Look on the bright side. At least it wasn't on the auto transport ship loaded with Audis, Porsches, Bentleys, VWs, and Lamborghinis that caught fire and sank. The Lambos on board were part of the final production run for those models and they had already been paid for.
