My left rear door will only open from the inside. So, I know the latch works. Does this mean the cable that connects the outside handle is probably disconnected?

Can't say for sure on Q7, but usually this means the door handle itself is going to have to be replaced, as the little plastic bit on the big end of it serving as anchor to the actuator cable has broken off. I've had that happen twice on another car with a similar 'pull to open', cantilever style handle setup. On that car it was the passenger side doors front/rear, and I had a couple family members that were exceptionally fond of yanking really hard on those 'pull-to-open handles and then slamming the doors. No issues like that on the driver's side of that car, but then they didn't get in or exit on that side either. Anyways, my money's on that little piece being broken off the back side of the door handle, which renders it useless for opening the door.

Just curious, do the replacement handles come painted? Or is that another extra charge?
New ones come unpainted. You can gamble on used ones off eBay, but they don’t always list the paint code correctly, and the sensors will probably be dead.

Thanks, I will have to put that off. I imagine the body shop would have to blend the handle into the door. Sounds expensive...
