Melted taillight insides
Went to replace the bulbs on my 2007 Q7 with leds. Couldn't budge a few of the bulb connections without pliers. 3 out of the 4 connections are melted to the inside of the taillight. So I now have to replace both harnesses and both taillights. Wtf?
Anyone know where I can find the taillights for a decent price? Maybe used?

Being a 2007 you may have decent luck finding parts at salvage yard - not necessarily at the U pick places but at the yards that supply newer model parts. I never pay more than half of what a new aftermarket part costs.
Was your model originally equipped with LED lights? I had a older A6 with conventional bulbs that suffered some bulb sock heat damage. If the LEDs were a retrofit they typically need a resistor to provide a current draw equivalent of the conventional bulb so as not to cause issues with turn signal blinking or bulb out indicators. These resistors can generate a fair amount of heat.

At least my 3rd brake light is working and my rear fogs. But i don't have any taillights. Praying the police will understand if I'm pulled over...

I found my record where I purchased a new bulb socket from a dealer, they called it a bulbholder. On second thoughts, used parts may not be the best approach in this case as they likely will not be much better than what you have. Look for aftermarket parts.

Found decent prices for brand new taillights and both wiring harnesses at autohausaz.com. Would have liked to save some money, but I can't be without taillights that work. Surprised I haven't been pulled over yet. Must be Audi respect...
