Cracked Adblue Cap - covered under TDI Warranty?
It should be, since air getting into that system will cause the DEF to go bad in the storage tanks and clog it up as it crystallizes...no bueno. I'd say they''d have a vested interest in replacing it, but this is Audi we're talking about. Just call the dealer and see if they are gonna give you any flak about replacing it. Bear in mind that the real sealing part is the threaded plug on the inside, not the exterior plastic 'skirt' that fits over the outside of the filling port and helps keep dirt out, etc.
By the by, just read that DEF is only good for a short period on the shelf 6months to 1yr tops, and then degrades so it is less effective, etc., even in unopened bottle. I wasn't aware of that, and so will be using my 'just-in-case' DEF backup supply at my next fill. That definitely explains why I've seen so many bottles of DEF at Walmart and other stores that are crystallizing out of the bottle...I thought it was just from leaky bottles/bad seals, but they can't all be leaking, can they? Be sure to check your Use-By-Date, if buying DEF for your garage.

I do find it comical that Audi would charge $50 for one of those silly, yet essential, plastic caps. You ought to price it from a VW dealer instead...same exact Adblue system on Touareg TDI, same filler cap, lower parts pricing. You just need to look up the parts # in advance online, so you know exactly what to ask for rather than playing the 'What's the VIN# game for them to look it up.
