My brakes are completely out on my audi, replacing the bulbs does not help. I'm going to replace the wiring harness on both sides but can't find any how to videos or manuals.

I'm doing the same thing Monday, but I also have to replace the actual taillights as my insides were melted to the old harness/bulb connectors. I'm just going to unbolt the taillights from the lift gate and then put the new ones together with the new harness attached and bolt them back up. Then plug in the new harnesses. It looks pretty straightforward if you remove the inner and outer taillight bulb panels from the inside of the lift gate.
Look up Q7 taillight bulb replacement on YouTube and there are alot of videos. Once you get the lift gate panels off it seems much easier.
Hope that helps somewhat...

Okay, i haven't taken anything out or apart yet so i have no idea what it all looks like but i'm sure i'll be able to just put the new stuff back in how the old stuff is.

Glad your taillights aren't fried like mine. I'm surprised Audi didn't offer a recall, especially if the bulb connectors can melt, lol...
It takes a long time before they get like that; all Audi wanted was for them to last past the end of warranty, LOL. Just for grins, if the hatch mounted lights are out, you can disconnect and/or pull the sensor securing bolt, etc., at the hatch latch and the secondary set of tail lights mounted in the bumper should activate automatically. Gives you some latitude to do what you need to do, legally.

That's great to know, in case it happens again with the new harnesses. Hopefully replacing everything solves the problem though. Right now I'm just not driving at night unless its an emergency.
