Is the grill on the sport edition v12 bumper q7 the same as other q7's? I bought the RSQ7 style honeycomb grill, but the bottom angle is totally wrong. The OEM grill has a pronounced crown to match the bumper angle. The RS grill is much flatter on it's bottom angle.
I suspect its a unique grill just for the sport edition. And assume nobody makes a honeycomb style grill for this instance.

Exact same. Most of the RS grills I've seen (all actually) do not have a spot to mount the front facing camera which all of the Sport Edition cars would have. So if its shaped differently I'd assume there's something else going on there.

Yea I messed with it a bit more, it seems like it would actually work. However the bottom would not clip in no matter how much pressure I applied. And even then, the middle was not flush with bumper. I feel like this one was maybe just molded a little off. Shame because I really like the look. I did come up with a camera mount but ended up cutting up the license plate holder to make it, so no return for me. Bummer.
A heat gun, some velcro 'tape', and of course, real 100-mph duct tape in reserve, and you can rule the world...with your honeycomb style grill firmly attached on your Q7 at that.
You've just got to figure out what it's hanging up on...eventually you'll get it on there nice & snug.

yea I thought about that. But the bottom clips were just not long enough to reach. Something was just wrong with it. Do you have one? If so which vendor did you use?
I have a Q7 with sport edition bumper, i have recently changed to a honeycomb grill........ was a nightmare to get to fit, had all the problems you are having. Ended up modifying the bumper to be able to get it to fit, but luckily am in the trade and we have a bodyshop on site. Looks well once fitted tho
Ended up cutting the bit out thats highlighted in the circle, but only the outer layer, then gently sanded the lip around that i have highlighted to allow the grill to go further back and clip in.
