07 Q7 Sputtering while accelerating
First things first I absolutely love my car and it is killing me but I can't figure out what is wrong it. A month ago I noticed that when I tried to accelerate too quickly she sputtered but I talked about up to not putting a good enough gas in it. Then I'm going over a very big bridge and a guy cuts me off and I switch lanes and try to accelerate past him and my check engine light comes on my car will not accelerate and she is sputtering misfiring and backfiring so bad it's scary. That limp home light comes on and I limp it all the way home. I hook it up to a reader and it tells me that my crank position sensor is bad and that I have a misfire on cylinder 2 and bad fuel. So far I have changed the oil, changed the high pressure fuel pump, drained and cleaned out the tank change the fuel filter, changed the crank position sensor and I just finished changing all the plugs and coil packs and guess what it's still happening, what is going on with my car?

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Which engine do you have in your Q7? Did you change both High Pressure Fuel Pumps? Just to clarify...the code reader actually says you have "bad fuel"...?

The engines offered in the early cars were different and included the gas 4.2 V8 and 3.6 V6, IIRC...learned mainly from reading this forum, LOL. As prior stated, you likely have two HPFP on your car, not just one, and that would net you a stumbling engine, especially if the one you replaced already was still functional, and the one that was 'toast' is still on the car, etc.
