Q7 battery 2 questions
I have pretty much given up trying to find a non VAG battery with a BEM code. Does anyone know if there is a VAG/varta battery H9 size with more capacity ?
Does anyone know if the stock battery is Flooded or AGM ??
Thanks in advance
For a super cold winter climate, you don't need to reinvent the wheel on this car; it's all been done prior. Use the appropriate winter-weight oil for reliable starts for your climate. Get a fresh OE battery if yours is toast. You could go aftermarket, but the OE battery is 4yr warranted, affordable, and perfect for this car. The OEM, rebranded versions are fine too, just be sure to get a 'fresh' battery with a recent born-on-date, and ensure it is charged fully AND TESTS GOOD prior to installing it under seat in the car.
Other than that, you do whatever you do in your colder climate, whether that's an external block heater, oil heater, enclosed garage, battery tender, etc. You live there and you know the drill. Oh, and if TDI engine, have winterizer additive for your fuel (to keep it from gelling; winter diesel is blended w/ kerosene to help keep it from gelling, but you made need to supplement) and don't forget to check the antifreeze protection level/coolant to provide appropriate coverage for your expected low temps.
