Q7 Laundry List?
Please let me know what is “Audi”, what is not and what is because of 50k miles so I can figure out whether to keep the car, fix it and/or get rid of it. Your aid is much-appreciated, thanks ahead of time.
1. Steering correction when heading straight but passing a turn lane, for example.
2. The backup cam randomly reverts to “Graphic” about 50% of the time.
3. On the MMI, “North Up” randomly reverts to “Heading Up” about 75% of the time.
4. After Audi tech adjusted the auto door Latching mechanisms, the passenger front door inconsistently functions.
5. This same door has been found to be cracked opened, car locked, and raining.
6. Passenger door mirror does not return all the way up to previously set position after backing up.
7. Wipers “jump” sometimes from their off position I think when turning off the car.
8. Lane departure doesn’t always turn off when using turn signal hence vibrating the steering whee.
9. Resume CC behind a turning, but out of the way vehicle, it slams on brakes anyway
10. While passing another car from probably too close behind, vehicle seemed to try to prevent steering maneuver to pass.
11. Slow, steady braking with cruise control while driving straight and car in front or signage telling car to slow/stop.
12. Perhaps related, curve detection happens even though there is no curve
13. Steering correction suggested grabbing wheel while driving straight. I was at 10 & 2.
14. Vehicle driving straight, it pulls to right or left when driving over humps in road
15. Speed limit sign reader inconsistent and shut off within about 5-10 mins of each other.
16. Rear lid closes by foot while sitting in trunk having a picnic.
17. Altimeter randomly adds a couple hundred feet…at sea level.
18. Quattro rumble is normal? Come onnnnnn.
19. “Crunchy” noise while steering and parking/driving slow. Noted mostly on clean, concrete driveway but it kind of reminds me of rocks under the tires while steering while sitting still.
#GoodTimes
There's a ton of issues with the Gen 2 cars and several recent model years are labeled by Consumer Reports as "Used Cars to Avoid", including the '17 and '21 Q7s.
Good luck with yours.
