Default Q7 2007 air suspension problem

Hey,

i’m having trouble with my air suspension. Passenger side front corner doesn’t want to raise at all. All other corners raise normally. When i try to raise it to “offroad” the compressor works for a few moments and then shuts off and it gives a fault code which says it has over heated. When i clear the code it starts pumping again until the code comes back, i can do it multiple times. It raises the corners until it just releases the air. When i set it to automatic it tries to raise the passenger side corner and then releases the air from that corner instantly. I tried to look for leaks but couldn’t find any.

It's a 2007, so definitely time for it to have some wear/worn-out issues, if it hasn't already. Air suspension can be a bit of a puzzle, but seems you've already figured out the basics on yours. It will raise up, which means pump is fine, and likely the distro block is good too. Pay a shop to inspect the suspension on it and localize the leak for you, if you are unable to do so...really it's a two person job for the DIYer. You also want to know the condition of the wear components throughout the suspension. A competent shop will check your height sensors via VCDS or similiar diagnostic tool to verify the one on that corner is still functioning. If the air comes out in an organized way, like a blowoff/pressure release valve type situation dropping it in a very controlled manner (sensor or valve malfunction) vs. it just drops continuously with no mechanical sounds being heard (air spring is failled/ leaking) then you've got some good data to work from.

As you are registered in Estonia, hopefully you can find a reasonable/knowledgeable shop to assist you with the required maintenance/repair. You may want to look at what the replacement units cost, just to prepare yourself, as the air-ride units can be very pricey to service/replace. This is not a job for a casual DIYer, but there are plenty of videos online related to changing air suspension units and related components, etc.

i’ve checked some things with my OBDEleven. Everything seems to be okay. It shows that the compressor goes upto 18bars. I’ll the picture of the ride heights from OBDEleven. My father has another diagnostic tool(Delphi), I’ll see if that gives more info and while doing that i will see if my father can help with finding the leak if there is any.

Problem solved. Air suspension solenoid valve block was stuck and it didnt let any air through. Had it changed and now everything runs fine
