Audi Q7 2.0 2019 remove engine cover

Audi Q7 2.0 2019 remove engine cover
I want to change the oil filter of Q7 (2019 2.0) - but it's under the engine cover (which also houses the air filter). How do I I remove this cover? There are two retainers/fasteners (one on left and one on right) that pin the front of the panel on a cross beam. Do I just use "brute force" to pull the panel from these retainers or do I need a tool to "ply them open" in some way before remove the panel cover. I am really stuck and cannot get to the the oil filter under it. Thanks!!!
