Differential fluid brand?
I plan on putting Liqui-moly in my transmission and transfer case after seeing how good their motor oil is...
Appreciate the feedback...

Just another option for anyone looking!

Front: RAVENOL VSG 75W-90 GL-5 Gear Oil
Rear: RAVENOL DGL 75W-85 GL-5 Gear Oil
Center Transfer Case: RAVENOL AWD-TOR Gear Oil
Beware, the Ravenol SLS 75W-140 GL-5 LS is NOT compatible with the center transfer case for these vehicles. The description incorrectly labels the Audi VW part number (Audi VW G 055 145 A2) for the transfer case fluid. The correct fluid for the transfer case is the Ravenol AWD-TOR Gear Oil and this one correctly lists the Audi VW part number and is indeed compatible.
Hope this helps someone! Literally made an account on here just to post this message to help others to not make the same mistake I made!
Thanks for sharing! Just to clarify, though, 2017 is the 4M chassis, which may or may not be fully compatible with the previous 4L model it replaced. You should copy this on the "Q7 MK II Discussion" forum!

The one thing to be careful of on the 4L series is what lubricant goes into the transfer case housing, since that does vary between the 6spd vs 8spd transmissions. On my '10 TDI, it says to put ATF (same ATF spec as used for the 6spd transmission in it) into the transfer case, but on our '15 w/8spd tranny it says to use the 'transfer case' specific lubricant spec. The '15s 8spd tranny also uses a different spec of ATF.
Just pay attention to the details for your specific year model Q7; it's an easy DIY job, and super-duper-easy if you have air suspension. I rolled my steel susp Q7 up onto a high concrete curb to gain a bit of extra working clearance when I did the differential & transfer case fluid service. The air suspension '15 I just cranked up to max lift height and put into tire-change mode in MMI to lock the suspension (safety first!) to provide the needed working clearance below car.
In both cases, I used a big piece of cardboard on ground surface to make it easier ingress/egress and to move around, as well as catch any drips.
