AT&T wi-fi expired?

AT&T wi-fi expired?
I have a 2018 Q7, and this is the 2nd or 3rd time AT&T sent me an email saying my wi-fi expired. It doesn't make sense because they just charge me monthly for the wi-f and unless the credit card expired or closed, it would just auto renew. Audi doesn't even know why this happens. This time when I called Audi cs they said they can't reconnect me unless I get the Connect Prime. Obviously I told them I am not doing that because I only use the wi-fi....they put a ticket in but I don't have much hope they will resolve this quickly. Anyone else have issues like this....is there anything else I can do??

No, as we don't have your Gen 2 Q7, built from year model 2017 onwards. Not that some of the end-of-production Gen 1 cars (2007-2015 model years) didn't have a slot for SIM card; they do, but why pay for something you already pay for these days? Anyways, check out the Q7 Gen 2/MK 2 Forum, as that's where the owners of the 4M chassis Q7 that you have hang out, and they will have similar issues with their own cars to solve.
Having worked in wireless for nearly two decades, I can tell you it's a 'suckers game' to pay for those stand-alone SIM cards, but everyone has different tolerances and price sensitivity to achieve a desired result. I pay for an unlimited wireless plan, stream directly into my car's Carplay interface (added to the older model), and my plan allows me latitude to hotspot WIFI up to 3GB per cycle w/o data throttling on that sharing feature. Mine does everything I want it to do and more, but you have to figure out your needs based on your car model (Gen 2 Q7), what you want the data for, and what options your car's existing interface provides you.
