Issue with replacing cooling fans - bottom bolts cannot be unscrewed
Hello, I have tried to replace the fan assembly on my avant because one of the fans makes a lot of noise.
But I cannot seem to be able to undo the bottom bolts. They are screwed into the metal subframe. When I am turning the bolt, it iw turns together with the nut. Perhaps the bolts are rusted into the nuts and the nuts came off contact with the subframe. I cannot access the nuts without taking the whole front of the car apart. So is there a way to replace the fan assembly? The subframe look very rusty.
Perhaps I can drill out or cut off the bolts. The question is, can I replace the bolts with something that will connect to the subframe?
