2011 A6 C6.5 AUTO HEADLIGHT ISSUE

Hi there, I recently purchased a one owner 2011 A6 Premium S-line and have slowly been replacing the little things have gone bad over the years. After hours of research, I really can't seem to find any helpful information on the "Auto" Headlights. If my headlight switch is set to "Auto" the headlights are ALWAYS on. Of course if I move the switch to the off position, my LED DRL's come on. When I purchased the vehicle, I scanned it with my Autel Scanner and had a code for photolight sensor (sensor center of dash), so I replaced it in hopes of taking care of my auto headlight issue. Well it did not fix the issue, am I missing something here or is it possible I received a faulty sensor? I have come across some information that states the auto headlight sensor is built into the rear-view mirror, but those threads do not state what model Audi they are working on. Does anybody know where the Auto headlight sensor is actually located on a C6.5 A6? Any and all information is greatly appreciated.
