Hello Forum friends, I live in Alberta, Canada and I purchased 2008 Audi A6 Allroad from Japan and imported it to Canada. It is a very nice vehicle in excellent condition with 3.2L V6 engine, 117K km, paid around 10,000 CAD including shipping from Japan and import taxes. The JDM version does not have DRL lights which I was not ware of. Both fixtures left and right exists in the head lamp but there are no bulbs inside, there are dummy plugs in the place where bulbs supposed to be. I purchased and used the OBDeleven diagnostic tool to activate DRL in MMI option and turned the DRL on from the MMI screen. Then I got burnt light bulb message on the dash and realized there are no bulbs in the DRL light fixtures, I guess they were not installed for the Japanese market and I did not see any wiring going there either when I open the cover. I have the rear DRL lights (because I opted for Scandinavian mode using OBDeleven) but no front DRL and error message that my front left and right DRL lights have open circuit, burnt non existing bulbs. The main head lamps are Xenon with AFS system. I have a problem I would like to resolve because I need the front DRL in Canada to register my Audi. I was thinking to purchase Ross-Tech VCDS to do some coding to change settings to use fog lights as DRL. I am not quite sure if this would be possible for my 2008 A6 Audi. This is why I am checking with my new Forum friends if anybody has idea what is the best approach to get the front DRL working. I never used VCDS coding but I willing to learn it. The OBDeleven diagnostic tool does not give me many options to chose from for my 2008 Audi and I am hoping Ross-Tech VCDS system will provide me with better selection of options. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I really enjoy the AudiWorld Forum and learn a lot from reading different threads. Thank You in advance. Cheers.

 

 

If you have not tried turning them on with VCDS, it should be in there. I will see if I can find it, a bit later this afternoon.

 

what are the part numbers for these? They look like they have LEDs on the bottom of them also.

 

They do have the LEDs on the bottom ill have the part # later tonight.

should be just plug and play and mounting brackets will match to the bumper bracket
