Default Adaptive Air Suspension
The other day the warning/indicator light for the adaptive air suspension illuminated and has stayed on steadily. If I activate the suspension on the MMI manually it works fine when I select lift or comfort. I have always had it set to comfort so not adjusting up and down at high and low speeds.
Any suggestion on what the problem might be? Is there an issue driving with the light on?

You need to scan it to see what the error code is.

I would not trust an Autozone scan on an A8 D3. See Post #2 - you should scan the car using VCDS. Having said that, this looks like it could be an ABS control module failure, but I would run a scan to be sure. I just went through this on my A8 which is nearly 20 years old. These cars have a Bosch ABS module that develops issues after a number of years and the error codes can be all over the place. The module can be sent out for repair to an ABS module refurb shop.

Any suggestion where you could find a parts shop that could do this scan?

its a 2007 with 85,000 miles.

You are in CA correct? Lots of independent Audi shops with a VW-Audi specific scanning tool. Also available to you as VCDS, directly from Ross-Tech. If you will be keeping the car and doing any work on it, VCDS is a good investment.

Problem solved. VW/Audi service test indicates its a rear level sensor.
