ABS Module Replacement on 2013+?
Have a 2013 Q5 2.0T (US, so Quattro + ZF8) with a G201 ABS Module fault code. I see resolution to this for 2009-2012 cars, but, not for 2013+. I reached out to Module Masters to see if they would rebuild it, and they told me they could not. What's the fix here? A shop quoted almost $3,000 to install a new one, which is definitely a no-go. I have access to a Ross Tech cable - is there anything that can be done, other than shelling out huge money for a new one?
US MY13 would have used 8R0614517CE (8R0 614 517 CD + 8R0 907 379 AK) through Nov '12, then 8R0614517CG (8R0 614 517 CF + 8R0 907 379 AL) for Dec '12 onward. What's curious is a new CE is $2800 msrp, while a new CG is only $2000. But you can still get that new OE for $2300 and $1650. Still a lot. Which is why I couldn't see anyone bothering with a brand new one. As for using a later MY Q5 unit, should you find one, such as this rev DC unit (rev DB N55 + rev AS J104) https://www.ebay.com/itm/235546682430 I don't know. You might search around at other B8 threads (A4, A5, Q5) re ABS unit replacement and see if others have used later year units without issue.
See my ABS saga above - I had pressure sensor issues too - I spent $35 on a used one. Re-coded with VAGCOM. Works 100% since.
