QuickJack - will 7000TL work for Audi Q5 and Porsche 911SC?
1979 Porsche 911SC
2002 Porsche 911 Turbo
2012 Audi Q5 2.0T
2016 Audi Q5 3.0T
I looked at the QuickJack (Bendpak) site, which provides guidance on which QuickJack model to use based on vehicle weight and the following dimensions:
Vehicle GVWR
Height to lifting points
Tire Spread
Lift Point Spread (min)
Lift Point Spread (max)
As a 1st pass, I need to get the 7000TL based on the GVWRs of the Audi's (>5000#).
It looks like the 7000TL will work for all the cars if the 2 limiting dimensions below are OK:
Tire Spread - 7000TL requires a minimum tire spread of 70.75", I'm measuring the tire spread on the 911SC at right around 71", so it's very close but probably OK
Lift Point Spread - 7000TL requires a minimum of 37" and a max of 60". The minimum for the 2016 Audi Q5 is 49-1/2", but the maximum spread is 66" (6" longer). I'm not sure if this is OK or eliminates the use of the QuickJack for all 4 cars.
Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge on this?
The support blocks for the QuickJack have a 3"x4" footprint. They can be turned either way. So set a 3"x4" block under the front and rear jack points and measure the distance from the front of the front block to the rear of the rear block. That complete distance has to fit within the 60" (TL) or 66" (TLX) distance.
