No Aux - Green Menu Enabled/Stock Radio/Car Link Radio Swap - 2011 Audi Q5 S-Line
I can't get it to even detect aux/get any audio feedback from input devices other then the usual car sounds and stock radio AM/FM/Sirius.
Came from the dealer with an MMI to iPod cable with an adapter on that to work with modern iPhones (glove box port), no aux detected but it charges the phone. I bought an MMI to iPhone cable and tried that in the glove box, no aux detected but again it charges the phone. Enabled aux via green menu, reset the car/radio, tried it all again. Nothing detected.
At this point I didn't think much of it since I was going to swap the radio anyway, fast forward to after I've installed this android system and I've done this on everything from 2010-2019 Subaru, Impala, Altima without problems. Install goes smooth, wireless and wired (wired through USB connection that came with new head unit) car play work for Waze/etc. I even got the radio controls by the shifter to work to navigate the screen if I didn't feel like using touch controls. But no audio, no audio from Waze or Spotify via carplay.
I try all the cables again, I'm confirming there's still no aux input detected via the stock radio which I still have access to via pass-through on the new radio. All the stock radio FM/AM/Sirius audio still comes through no problem. I just cannot anywhere near aux input working.
I'm at a loss, not really sure what to do from here, I thought the new radio would be connecting to the audio via one of the cables on the harness and it would go around the glove box connector but I even tried hooking up the additional aux out from the head unit to that glove box compartment as well and nothing works. I don't understand how I can still have the stock radio output coming through with the new head unit but when I switch to carplay no sounds output. Switches to factory backup camera when I put it in reverse, etc. everything else working as expected.
Any advice greatly appreciated, I am happy to tear apart the dash and get back into it for any recommendations.
The obvious starting point is scanning for codes and seeing if the car is already saying there's issues to be addressed. Only when the car is clean of known issues that might be relevant, then you move on to looking for other things.
Sounds like you've only tried AMI cables for 30-pin Apple, and with a phone? Have you tried any other AMI cable? Basic AUX (3.5mm analog) or USB (with just a USB stick)? Do other sources under Media category work? SD card slot?

From my understanding this year this model should have aux working stock, or at-least after being enabled in the green menu, so I've been wondering if it's just a bad port at this point.
Be careful in the green menu. Never change anything with recording everything. There's no reset button for if you mess something up and don't know what you changed. There's no need to be in there for AMI operation. The only thing I've ever changed in it is to bring down the maximum start up volume.
Also, knock off AMI cables commonly don't work well. I only have actual Audi originals.
