Oil filter housing
Can I change out my 06 a8l quattro 4.2l v8 oil filter housing with out pulling engine my return tube and anti drain back valve are broke shop wants 23.5 hours of labor can you access if you remove intake manifold?

For BVJ engines the the oil filter housing and oil retention valves are in the V under the intake manifold you can access them with just the manifold removed. I believe for your engine the oil cooler is in an area in back of the alternator and that needs to be removed first before you can get to it. Most likely you can do it from the passenger wheel well area if its like the BFM engine, no need for engine out. If you are in that deep change the vacuum hoses and what not while there.
