Cam fixing/cleaning air system be DIY? P0491 & P0492
Hey has anyone gotten P0491 and/or P0492 codes when you get your check engine light before and done the job yourself?
The code is for the air system getting insufficient air flow. I watched some videos of a mechanic do the job and it seems some carbon gunk gets in the hoses and needs to be washed or blown out.
I The job itself does not seem crazy but you have to get the front of the car in "service position" which is removing all or most of the front end. Is that simpler than it looks or does it require special tools or commercial equipment that doesn't make doing the job feasible for an amateur mechanic?
