High Mileage Q5 TDI - Reliability? Winters?

High Mileage Q5 TDI - Reliability? Winters?
First I'll confess my wife and I are torn between the A6 TDI and the Q5 TDI. The choice is pretty much between them. In our area, most Q5 TDIs <$20k are between 95k miles and 140k miles.
Having owned a 400k Jetta TDI (the ole ALH motor) and a 4.2l A6 that lasted close to 300k miles, I feel that 140k is not "too much" especially for the diesel motor, but I am here seeking your counsel.
Also, what is the real world driving MPG we can anticipate from the Q5 TDI. Searching has yielded numbers as low as 26mpg up to 40mpg(!?).
Any advice is welcome! Thank you and we look forward to rejoining the Audi family.
ps. Either car will eventually be de-smogged to remove that maintenance concern.

Real world is 30 mpg combined city/highway on the Q5. For all the vehicles with the 3.0 TDI the Q5 s the best all around platform for that engine IMO. Fairly small so it handles great but it will tow decent weight if you want SUV characteristics.
You do you on DEF delete but the rest of us could do without the disgusting open diesel exhaust thanks. The overcomplexity and added maintenance is an overrated opinion by internet "experts" and backwoods mechanics IMO

My 2014 A6 TDI has 108,000 and only real issues have been related to sensors and exhaust both of which were covered by extended warranty, which expired this May.
Prior to fix, straight highway was high 40s, city/stop&go around 30. Post fix, highway is low 40s and no real change in city.
Not sure what your needs are, but with back seats folded, lots of room to help kids move their stuff.
