2011 Q5 Weird Idle

2011 Q5 Weird Idle
this just started happening to me yesterday but when sitting in my car with it running waiting for wife to come out of the store i heard a beep and the dash went black and a few lights started blinking. followed but a somewhat rough idle like the car self revving a bit. like control to the throttle body was lost and it was trying to keep the car from stalling. 5 years with the car and never had it happen before. i shut the car off and turn it back on and it’s fine. but it has now happened 3 times (the second two on purpose to see if i could figure it out or if it would even do it again. Does anyone have a clue what might cause this? Or anyone else have this happen before?
