Did I just dodge a bullet?
Long time lurker. I’ve owned a 2014 Q5 TDI for the last 6 years and the car has been immaculate.
I wanted to get a second one and located a nice 2015 one with 120k miles and immaculate records.
The car was immaculate, drove better than my current one I would even say, good brakes, good acceleration, no timing chain.
Older gentleman traded it in at the MB dealer, I drove it and loved it.
I check the engine bay and noticed the coolant level is almost empty. It was right in my face.Instantly sends red flags in my head. This car has immaculate service and has been serviced every 6-12 months. In February it had the 120k mile service done and the new dealership before selling changed the oil again, air filter, windshield wiper fluid, alignment and detail. No ****ing way both Audi and BMW dealer missed that and didn’t top it off. I made them do a pressure test and they said no leaks, but it’s going somewhere. I think head gasket or some pvc pipe, red flags all over. I bailed bro. Just walked away. Gut was telling me bounce
Hope I made the right choice, could be nothing. But honestly coolant doesn’t just vanish. Something is up. I’m bummed as I loved the car, but I think something major is up.
