driver's door wont open...what now !!
I dont think its a matter of not un-locking, but rather that the latch is not being tripped. I cant think of a way to solve this. Any thoughts...

Worst case, disassemble the door - remove the door card, handle and latch...and manually manipulate the lock/latch from inside Can't say that I've done it,. but that's what I would try. I have replaced both door handles and latches, and from what I recall, I think it could be done. Set aside an afternoon and a couple of brewski's. I've previously posted the steps to remove door card and latch.

Were it that simple...the whole problem is that the door card can not be removed with the door closed. I am going to a salvage yard to study the backside layout of the plastic pull handle 'well' on the door card. It might be possible that I can Dremmel an opening in just the right spot through which I can get hold of the latch cable. Perhaps being able to pull the cable further that the the lever is able to would trip the latch. And the plastic piece would be easily replaced in the door card, so its worth a try I think.

You can’t even open it from the inside? Sounds like something mechanical has become detached from the lock mechanism. Wind the window down and look down the slot. You should be able to see the lock inside the door. Is anything detached? Look at the passenger side for reference and what moves what when operating the door handles. Once you have figured that out you might be able to trip the lock by poking a rod or hook, or coat hanger, or something down there and opening it that way.
This was a successful method for me when a rear door with child locks enabled failed. The retaining clip that holds the rod connecting the outer door handle to the lock mechanism had broken causing the rod to detach from the outer door handle mechanism.
