How would you fix (or at least 'stop the bleeding' this rust spot?
Is there anything I can do myself (a complete novice) to stop this from getting worse? Or should I get it repaired/something by a professional? Obviously I don't want to repair an entire panel or whatnot.
I'm assuming there was a small chip in the paint or whatnot and it looks to now be rusting.
Simplest thing to do is a paint touch up but this might not stop corrosion from progressing over time.
If you want to stop the rust first then apply something like Rust Converter, then apply the touch up paint.
If the original paint is bubbling then corrosion is creeping underneath around the opening. If so then you may want to first remove the bubbling paint around the edges, then apply Rust Converter, then apply touch up paint.
