Electric steering wheel adjustment issue
Hello to everyone. I am new in this group. I just bought an Audi A8 2008. Before i had from 2007 and had manual adjustment of steering wheel. Now is electric.
Previous owner told me that is not adjusting up and down from 2 years. I was hoping i can fix but in my city nobody can find the solution till now. I bought already from 1 month. Is moving only 1 cm up and 1 cm down. In and out is moving like it should 10 cm.
I have a cracked vcds when i make basic setting to steering column is moving out 10 cm and 10 cm up.
i try with different steering column + motors. Same thing is moving only 1 cm up and down and same thing to basic settings out completely and up completely. I just want to move it more down. Please if someone can tell me what is it. I ask previous owner if comfort module was changed but he say he didn't. I thought it make component protection. Because sometimes on central convention on vcds i have component protection. Not all the time.

Common fault. The steering column adjustment needs to be recalibrated. You’ll need VCDS to do the basic setting for it.
