Pano roof shade gear issue

Pano roof shade gear issue
Subject is a 2015 Q5 Prestige, with about 110K miles. Well maintained generally, frequently garaged.
The shade on the pano roof appears to have jammed on the driver's side with the shade nearly fully retracted. The slide on the passenger slide moves normally.
I'm hearing the only fix is a new cassette at $2500+, or putting a heavy tint on the pano glass.
Has anyone run into this issue and successfully repaired the sun shade mechanism?
Any write ups of said repair?

Both here and youtube but any write up here is going to link to either a audi service manual that has you replace the whole unit or a youtube video that has you replace just the shade. You've been a member for 20 years, you know how to search and find it. Here are some quick links that took me a few seconds. The job sucks but if you get it done right it's $50 in parts and a lot of swearing compared to $2000 to $3000 of the shop spending all day on it.

The car is in Boulder Colorado and we have not yet found an indie in the area willing to take on the job.
Would appreciate referrals to any good indies in the Boulder (Denver) area who is a potential candidate.

I'm in Denver/Boulder area also. No indie shop will take this on for less than $2000. I tried
It's a good DIY project. Personally I did it myself, screwed it up, and tossed the shade. Probably could do it right the second time but it's not worth my time fighting that idiotic metal spring design.
