UK: Temp warning on Q5 diesel?
My 2014 q5 just threw a temp warning and said to pull over to cool off.
I pulled over and the coolant bottle was brimming. After a minute the temperature was back down and coolant level was back good again.
I carried on the journey for another 10 mins trouble free.
Any idea what the issue was?
many thanks
LOL
Seriously, look at the coolant system of a modern car. It's a rats nest of lines and sources for problems. We can't guess on where. End of this article has the 6 most common issues. Pressure test usually eliminates a few of these variables.

I figured it was probably a water pump issue and was just looking to see if anyone knew if my issue/symptoms are a common one.
My Q5 was purchased 12 months ago from a dealership, I checked the paperwork and it had the timing belt done before I brought it at 65,000 miles but they didn't do the water pump. This makes me even more convinced its the water pump.
It's booked into my local garage on Friday so I will know for sure then.
My Q5 is a 2.0 tdi 2014 and it has a timing belt.
I have linked the kit that was fitted below:
