Counterfeit Brake Pads?
The pads have Audi and Brembo logos, but they were underneath the blue sticker protecting the anti squeal tacky material. I believe these are counterfeit.
I asked the seller, who adamantly states they sell only OEM, 100% Genuine, Original parts. They also charge only $64 bucks for these "Genuine" pads...
The pads are already installed, and I am concerned about having knock off counterfeits on such a critical system.
Anyone have a similar experience with PartsContainer?
Thanks
In addition to claiming "100% Genuine, Authentic , OEM ", the photos of the pads for sale had both Brembo and Audi logos on the backing plate , exactly like the pads on the Q5.
That's why I bought them.
The pads I received do not match those in the photo. Reason enough for asking for a refund.
PartsContainer , the seller, is assuring me these are 100% Genuine..despite being different in appearance from the photo.
I may never know if true.
Counterfeit parts , Chinese knock-offs in the market is a major problem.
Brembo has hologram seals and barcodes on their own branded parts.
The fakes are very, very good.
Just had a bad experience with Newparts.com (Partscontainer on eBay). Ordered Zimmermann rotors (pads/oil filters/etc.) for my Q7 and they sent cheaper competitor brand of rotors. They should've told me this *before* sending me the alternate part, not after. Classic bait/switch move - more to it (aggressive, lying, self serving communication, etc ... ). Ended up writing a letter to Zimmermann highlighting the brand damage plus complaint to eBay. I have bought from these guys before without issue for my 911 & 993 and E30 rebuilds. Never again! Told them to stick their refund. Can't fix dishonest behavior.
