Is this for holding wheel nuts when changing tire?

Appears you have some kind of aftermarket spare tire well liner? So no idea what that thing is for.

Makes sense. We bought the car 2 years old in 2016. That liner is great. Looks to me like it holds wheel nuts, so you don't lose them while changing a tire.
This is why I could not find any description of that liner in the manual.

Your Q5 doesn't have wheel nuts. VAG cars use bolts.

Perfect HZ, thx . . . and we did have the storage bin divided at one point and it probably fell out of the slot and was laying on the bottom of the bin where I found it. Looks like those circles are there just to add rigidity. Those are what threw me!
