The front grill airflow design forces all incoming air through the stack of coolers. IAT’s will go up when increasing supercharger boost due to the extra heat produced. To help maintain reasonably low IAT’s I removed the supercharger’s stock cooler and installed the much larger JHM cooler mounted on the crash bar. After the stock cooler removal there is a large air gap in each of the two vertical side air guides. In an effort to maintain the intended front grill cooling airflow design I cut some cardboard fitment templates then transferred the dimensions to thick black plastic sheet material to fill the gaps. I generally avoid modifying stock parts and if it is needed then I try to modify as little as possible while ideally making any changes reversible. I used rivets and washers to mount the filler plates to the side air guides then seal the rivets with RTV to prevent corrosion. The left vertical side plastic air guide needed a trim for the relocated coolant hose to pass through. If the stock cooler needs to be reinstalled then I can simply drill out the rivets and remove the filler plates.
