Well I’ve now got 205k miles on the Q. I recently bit the bullet and got the headlight assemblies completely replaced. The old lights were just too dim even after trying to restore them.
It needs some detailing love but for a car bought in Oct of 2012, it’s hanging in there.
Thanks! It’s been a great vehicle to drive. I had to add a CarPlay unit to update the MMI a bit (stand alone unit through the Aux input), but it gets the job done nicely. The B&O system still sounds great.
Unfortunately, I shopped around a bit, but then decided to have the dealer take care of it. They were surprisingly reluctant to perform the service, noting the age of the car, but I wasn’t exactly fond of the, “but your car is not worth it” sentiment. I don’t mind owning older vehicles, but I don’t want them to look tattered.
