New member to the forum but have used the great information here for some time. I have owned my 2011 Q5 for about 18 months and I just replaced my engine air filter. I noticed another filter of sorts in the lower housing which had a metal push retainer. Unfortunately, the filter media was brittle and half disintegrated. Can anyone tell me what the part number is of this piece and is it a dealer only item? The local Audi dealer was unable to help me with this. Many thanks!
You can make a replacement from a piece of coarse open cell foam. IIRC it is a simple debris filter for the SAI pump air intake.

Ran into the same issue. Found out the SAI intake filter and the other foam pad for sound deadening (?) are only available if you buy a whole new air filter intake box for $$$.
Got creative and cut a section of foam to replace the sound damper pad. I then cut 2 circles out of an old washable A/C filter and stacked them together to replace the SAI intake filter. Used a shop vac first to suck out any old crusty foam that may have fallen into the SAI pump intake air line.
The original foam had completely disintegrated due to age, not a great choice of filter medium for that application.
