Battery Charging
Fact = VCDS procedure when re-calibrating the rear brakes (you are suppose to attach a battery charger)
I believe the only exception is the use of "old style" battery chargers.
The OEM battery of the A8 is an AGM battery. The only way to charge this battery is with the use of "modern battery chargers".
So if I charge the battery with an ODYSSEY battery charger, I should be okay?
And you hookup a standard charger direct to the battery +ve, and the -ve to the jumper post.
Also, no particular need to have a battery charger hooked up to do the brake pads, unless you have a known weak battery. That’s just dealer procedure to eliminate any battery charge issues as techs may be working multiple jobs simultaneously and leave the car “on” unattended for a while.
