Default Where is the ICRM?

Good day Everyone,
I'm currently throwing P2015 & P2020 codes for the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) system. I've checked multiple threads (that all go down rabbit holes) but not a single one tells be exactly where to find the IMRC's on my V8.
I've read I have to remove the manifold, I've also read their just under the plastic engine cover. Can anytime please tell me it point me to a diagram to see where the ICRM are on an 07 A8 D3 with a V8.
Also follow-up, could this be caused by incorrect mapping of a rebuilt abs module (long story and being correctly coded this week)

Don't know about the IMRC.

ABS module miscoding or defects with the module can produce a number of odd, unrelated errors. I would make sure the ABS is coded properly to start with. Using VCDS, here is the ABS coding on my 2005 A8L with 19" wheels, 1LL front brakes and standard automatic trans as delivered from the factory. This coding table applies to 2003-2010 models.

Under [03] Brake Electronics:

Coding: 0007597
  • 000?xxx: Chassis
    • 1 = Audi S8 (Short Wheel Base)
    • 7 = Audi A8 (Long Wheel Base)
    • 8 = Audi A8 (Short Wheel Base)
  • 000x?xx: Brakes
    • 3 = FNRG-60 16" (PR-1LG)
    • 5 = 2FNR 42 AL 17" (PR-1LL/1LM)
    • 6 = 2FNR 42 AL 18" (PR-1LJ/1LK)
    • 7 = Brembo M6 AL 19" (PR-1LW)
  • 000xx?x: Engine
    • 2 = 10 Cyl. Gasoline
    • 3 = 12 Cyl. Gasoline OR 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline/Diesel with Brembo M6 AL 19" (PR-1LW)
    • 5 = 6/8 Cyl. Diesel w/o Brembo M6 AL 19" (PR-1LW)
    • 6 = 6 Cyl. Diesel (Long Wheel Base)
    • 9 = 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline w/o Brembo M6 AL 19" (PR-1LW)
  • 000xxx?: Transmission
    • 7 = Automatic (09E/09L)
    • 9 = Multitronic (01J)

What scan tool are you using? That doesn’t sound like a legit Audi DTC description.

On the FSI motor the intake runner flaps are electrically actuated by the engine ECU. There isn’t a separate “ICRM” control module as far as I know. Certainly not that I’ve heard of.

P2015, P2020 both with a b as well are the codes. Those come back as ICRM.

Here is the info I got. The IMRC is the intake manifold runner position sensor. Hope this helps.

This is what it looks like. It's probably mounted on one end of the intake manifold on each side. It's the same error message for both sides, which seems unusual.

Did you ever get the ABS module programming verified?

Just had it fully factor programmed today. So we'll see if it comes back or not. Now to fix the busted window regulator (cable broke)

If the code comes back, you are looking at 3 & 6
