2014 Q7 TDI Heater Core Flush
Thank you!
You always begin troubleshooting via VAGCOM full diagnostic scan of a Q7, as often that will tell you something about most problems you could have on this car. There's just so many electronics and feedback loops/sensors/actuators/coolant pumps on a Q7.
Then there are diagnostic procedures/test sequences provided in VCDS to help you identify that everything is working correctly (or not). The blend door inside the HVAC moves/controls the temperature you get, so if it is stuck or the actuator is stripped/bad on that door, then you not gonna get heat. There's other things to check/verify as well, starting with coolant reservoir level/coolant condition, etc.
There's just a lot more going on with the Q7 than most other vehicles beneath the surface, which is why you need an advanced/highly capable diagnostic scan tool like VCDS. You always want to start with the easy stuff/checks first...the low-hanging fruit, as it were.
