Default Interior trim rear molding question

Back hatch roof interior trim.

4L0-867-839-A-25M - Leather, black.

4L0-867-839-K23 - Cloth, black

Is this just differentiating between cloth seats and leather seats?

I don't recall a leather headliner option.

Mine has the 4L0-867-839 number on it followed by EK4. But that doesn't correspond with any of those part numbers.

There's couple diff colors for the cloth headliners. I've seen gray, beige-ish, black (S-line trim). Then there's the Alcantara headliner with the luxury package option, which I wouldn't call it a black, but I've only seen it in the gray finish; little deeper color than the gray cloth headliner. It's really sharp looking with the Alcantara trim. Perhaps that alcantara comes in black also, or perhaps that is simply the description for it?

If you looking for a replacement, don't forget to check out eBay listings. Prices on new trim parts from Audi are insane. You could always just reupholster the original part, as well, or get an upholstery shop to match the fabric/do it for you, etc.

That's what I'm wondering. if the Alcantara is the "leather" one its 3x cost as the "cloth" one.

If you buy it new from an Audi Stealer, or similar outlet...stupid expensive for that part, which is why you don't want to buy things that way. Granted, it may be tougher to locate the exact trim piece, but if you open your scope of solutions to include other options...you gotta think outside the box of buying a new replacement trim piece.

Im not opposed to buying it used or from another place I'm just trying to figure out which one to buy. Its actually not bad priced. The cloth is under 150, and the leather is under 400.
