ZA: VCDS, Where to buy?
I know Rosstech is the best, But shipping to South africa adds quite a bit to the price.
I see places like AliExpress offer too? Will this work? Has anyone purchased from there?
How did you find the software? was the tool worth it? Which one did you buy?

Maybe it'd be fine to order via a 3rd party, and especially if you get it from a local or regional car parts specialist website, for example, rather than ordering it from an American supplier/retail source. I've seen VCDS offered by a couple diff car parts sites that cater to German car owners, and that's very likely the case in your region of the world as well. I wouldn't think that Ali-Express, home to everything 'knock-offs', would be your go-to source for an original Ross-Tech VCDS scan tool, but I digress.
Buyer beware:
You should know that like many desirable things in the car parts industry people don't want to pay full price for, VCDS is being counterfeited online and typically sold for less than normal retail price; of course, the counterfeit item only looks the part...it doesn't work and you lose your money, so be careful who you buy from. If you do choose to buy from a third party platform, I'd suggest an authorized reseller, but regardless, be sure you compare the details/photos from the actual Ross-Tech website to what you are looking at online, as often there will be small differences in the labeling/stickers/plastic housing moldings, etc., which indicate you are looking at a counterfeit item. Leverage the internet to help you locate VCDS from sellers in your region of the world.
