If you haven't used the VCDS for anything like this prior, suggest you watch a video online of doing adaptations using VCDS, etc. If you do reset/adapt your tranny, then there's a learning drive cycle that follows that reset to allow the car to relearn the correct engagement of clutch packs, etc., and it's not about going fast or pedal to the metal (which is silly in a TDI anyhow), so read up on it/do your research.
