B&O Woofer Refoaming Help?
Hello, 2015 Q7 TDI with B&O Audio. Noticed rear door woofers starting to crackle. When i looked through grills with flashlight noticed surround foams are cracked.
On my home audio I have replaced foams before with basic kits from simplyspeakers.com But not sure if can be done with car audio.
Anyone ever do this? and know size or where to find replacement foam kits?

No idea on size, Appears to be 6.5 inch but search here and it gives options. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/2015-audi-q7-speakers as for speaker re-foam, Smallest I see is https://www.parts-express.com/Surrou...915?quantity=1 Were it me, I would put a new speaker in each side and call it a day. YouTube has videos on it

I've got a pair of Bose 6.2 bookshelf 'stereo everywhere' speakers from the early '90s I need to replace the foam on (one crackles), so I definitely am tracking what you thinking, but I just have never heard of anyone rebuilding old car speakers that get long-term exposed to heat/cold/humidity, etc. I'd guess that's because after 10-15 yrs lifespan in car, there's normally gonna be some really high quality replacement options out there unless the speakers are a funky size/shape/special housing, etc., that they cannot be simply or easily swapped out. I've had to do a bit of 'surgery' on prior cars to swap out the rear door midrange speakers that were blown using aftermarket speakers, so I know that can be a real PITA when replacing higher-end speakers.
Hey, if you can find the replacements for those speaker foam surrounds, knock yourself out and let us know how it goes. As for me, I'd just be shopping for some clean sounding new, or gently used OE speakers from a wrecked car/recycler, etc., or looking to the aftermarket, if applicable, to this particular speaker replacement.
Once you have the part#, then then internet is your happy hunting ground.
