Default Q7 TDi Engine Replacement - Harness

So I did something stupid and decided to replace my engine in my Q7TDI in my driveway after catastrophic failure in the original engine.

Question is, has anyone replaced the engine harness?
The glowplug wires have these plastic wire guides on them (which I bought new to replace) but there is a rubber grommet that holds that cap in place, they were dry rotted and broke with the cap upon removal from the original engine. This seems to be part of the harness rather than a replaceable part on its own. The cap and wire will not stay in place without this o-ring.
Any insight?

And what year is your Q7 TDI? There are two diff TDI 3.0 L engines...Gen 1 and Gen 2.

If you are saying you just need the o-ring shown on the far right side of the attached pic, then you can take the plastic sleeve bit down to a hardware store to see what fits on it firmly, etc..

It is a 2009, this is the cap shown. The gromment/oring sits inside of this cap on the wire. I have ton of orings but this is more of a thick square profile rubber ring.

So, not having needed to look at my own glow plugs as yet, I looked up on a parts site, and for cylinders # 2 and #5, those show to have the pressure sensor integration on those two glow plugs, and there is a shaped black fitting on the end of those, whereas the generic glow plugs don't have those.

Here's a link to have a look at how the glowplugs appear: https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/20...glow_plug.html

Also, and no judgement here, but if I were rebuilding/replacing my TDI motor, I'd be changing the glow plugs if I had no service records on those being replaced prior...they aren't expensive items, well, ok, the two with the pressure sensors incorporated are a bit more costly, but the basic ones are cheap.

This looks like it. 3 options to find it. Cheers https://www.hansautoparts.com/07Z971...Connector.aspx OR https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...490.m570.l1313 OR https://www.google.ca/search?q=07Z97...client=gws-wiz

I wish I took a picture before it was completely falling apart as it is hard to explain.

On engine harness the pin for the glow plug is covered by the cap and underneath it looks kind of like this:

Instead of the orange grommet in this picture - there is a black square point grommet which holds the cap on the pin of the harness from movement. Otherwise without this grommet the pin moves freely in the cap and will pull out.

After further research, I think I am dead in the water as this grommet seems to be only part of the engine harness as a whole.
Time to macgyver something and pray

Actually I see what you are saying here. Cut, splice and replace that part of the harness. That is definitely doable! I appreciate it!
