Help with Battery Adapatation
Replaced the battery in the ole girl today. Replaced the AutoCraft H8 with a Duralast Platinum H9. Install went smooth, until it came time to do the battery adaptation. Using the VCDS, and following their instructions (youtube link) I was able to get to the correct screen (non-UDS CAN Gatway instructions) to enter all the info. The problem is when I put the new values in and then select TEST, the original values populate the Test Value line, not the new values I am entering. It should put the new values I entered. I am not sure why it won't take the value. I tried it multiple times. I made sure that I entered enough values for each part of the new values, extra spaces cause the new battery part number is only 10 digits, when the computer needs 11. And I made sure zeros were entered as zeros and O's where entered in a O's Anyone run into this issues and what did you end up doing to solve the issues?
New Battery Values on the BEM sticker:
BEM: 7P0915105D
JCB4405088126
Value entered into VCDS:
"7P0915105D JCB 4405088126"
Original Values in the car
"8K0915105F VAO 3F5M0JO "

I used the part # provided on the battery (BEM: 7P0915105D) in your case, subbed in the original Varta code VAO or VA0, whichever works, and just made up my own date code for the final set for easy reference to the date I installed it, etc.
That worked 100% fine.

Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
So, like RJS who recently posted on here, you got a new AGM battery where the BEM sticker showed you a VW part# rather than the part# Audi uses for same battery, and which you would kinda think should be a universal code, but it's not. VW and Audi use diff battery part#s...so stupid.
Moral to this story, I guess, is to save some grief/time lost, and start the install process by looking up the BEM part# indicated to be sure it matches your car's namesake...in this case, Audi. You'll notice that the Audi battery code uses the exact same coding as original, OE battery, which is an H9 size, except the last letter(s) on part# get changed to show the car's BEM system it is a diff technology type battery (flooded vs AGM), along with having slightly diff storage capacity, etc.
Congrats on a successful BEM reprogramming!

Thanks for the further info. I did not know about the difference between VW and Audi part numbers. That is so stupid, but makes more sense now why I was having issues.
