Bluetooth issue 🤯🤯
driving me nuts now!!🤯🤬🤬
anybody🙏??? Tia
It's easy to list your cars info (year, engine, etc.) in your signature line via profile setup options, but just be sure you provide your car's basic data when posting, regardless of how you do it, as different years have different MMI versions and Bluetooth features/function, for example, and diff engines have diff problems, etc., etc.
Just to clarify; what you want to do is be able to make/receive phone calls via the Bluetooth/hands-free system, correct? Is that all you are asking about?
The Green Menu that you pictured above is a very dangerous space to make any changes in, as a minor change you think makes sense often creates lots of problems, like defeating (greying out) options the car came from factory with in the MMI, etc.
There is a method to go through and try to 'delete' the faults/error codes shown inside the MMI (pictured above), but before you go too far down that rabbit-hole, what fault codes are showing up on a normal, full VAGCOM scan tool diagnostic scan of your car? Always start with the basics.
I've got a 2010 with same MMI system, so likely I can help you figure this out.
The two P-codes are related to your updating the MMI firmware version/NAV maps, but going around/excluding the Bose amplifier from the update, so there's a mismatch, etc. Nothing to do with your Bluetooth issue though.
Be helpful to know what scan tool you have, what model iPhone you are trying to connect to it, and if any other MMI menu items/options are greyed out besides just the Bluetooth control menu. Take pics of anything that is 'greyed out'.
If the Bluetooth is the only item not giving you normal access, then we'll need to verify the programmed value in Green Menu for the Bluetooth is correct for that function, as the numeric value tells the car what feature set it can support. So, if someone prior changed that value from the basic Bluetooth connect (hand's free calling) to Bluetooth calling w/music streaming, etc., then that would cause a problem since this version of MMI doesn't offer the music streaming function, etc. If the prior owner had an aftermarket Carplay kit, turning off the car's Bluetooth is generally required, so there's couple things to check out before thinking anything is broken. Much more likely to be related to what prior owner did...the Carplay kits are a great upgrade, BTW.
Let's assume that prior owner installed a Carplay kit. If so, then when you go into the Accessory Audio Menu (via MMI control/buttons...button below radio input), and scroll through the input options, you'll likely see one you don't recognize, which would be for the Carplay kit's audio input. Select it and see what happens. If you get stumped on this one, then take a pic of the Inputs Menu screen.
Start with ignition off.
Prepare your phone to search for devices.
Switch on ignition (don’t start engine) and select TEL on the mmi.
Activate bluetooth search on your phone and select your car.
Observe mmi screen and enter pin (default is 1234).
The procedure for connecting your own phone via bluetooth is different to the procedure for connecting a pre-installed phone via bluetooth. The distinction in the user manual is not pointed out clearly enough.

The more info on your Bluetooth Menus you can show, the easier it will be to help you remotely, since this is not a 'normal' Q7 issue...that's why all the questions asking you for specifics, and if there is anything else at all greyed out inside your MMI menus...on any of them; check them all please & thank you. On my own Q7, if there is a problem inside the Green Menu's configuration (Car options), then whatever else resides on the same control module is normally greyed out in the MMI Menu, so there can be multiple 'factory menu' items disable/ impacted by one coding change/snafu/mod innocently done in the Green Menu, for example. Given your description of the car, I don't think that's not likely to be the case, but it's very easy and quick to check all the MMI menu options using car's MMI controller/selector buttons.
WOW, only 22k miles on it; that's incredible and probably means the prior owner was older and didn't do anything to the car, so hopefully it's just a matter of figuring out what detail you are missing to get it to work for making/receiving calls via the cars' Bluetooth system. Have you read the owner's manual for your Q7 as pertains to the MMI / Bluetooth hands-free? If not, start there.
